Locus Economica is excited to hear about the progress the Panama-Pacifico Special Economic Zone (SEZ) ha made toward meeting, and even exceeding, its goals.  Locus Economica founder Jean-Paul Gauthier was instrumental in advising the government of Panama on the laws and regulations that make the SEZ function as a contractor with the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Thanks to Jean-Paul's help, the 2,500 hectare site is now thriving under the management of London & Regional Panama, with 225 companies, including major international manufacturers, and 12,000 people on a daily basis.  As Henry Kardonski, general manager of London & Regional Panama, said, "Before we only saw containers going through the Canal.  Now, thanks to the operation of the companies that are in the area, containers stop and are loaded with merchandise produced in Panama Pacifico."
